The chartered accountant: a strategic ally for a successful back-to-school season

03 Oct 2025

The back-to-school period is a key time for companies, and the chartered accountant plays a central role in helping them meet their financial and organizational challenges. Magali Ncir, a chartered accountant and coworker at Coworkea in Vanves, shares her experience and advice for tackling this period with serenity and efficiency.

1. Anticipate the end of the fiscal year

As early as September, it's essential to prepare for the end of the tax year, to avoid the rush at the beginning of the year. Magali explains: "We do a complete review of the files to identify any missing documents and enable our customers to make strategic decisions before the end of the year."

This includes rigorously collecting accounting documents (invoices, bank statements, contracts) and making financial landings to adjust targets.

💡 Magali's back-to-school tip

"Anticipation is the key to avoiding the rush and approaching the end of the year with serenity. Three priority actions are better than a long list of good intentions.

2. Optimize cash flow

Cash management is a crucial issue, especially in an uncertain economic climate. Magali advises: "It's important to distinguish between structural problems and occasional tensions. For the latter, solutions such as factoring or short-term financing can be considered."

For companies with surplus cash, short-term investments may also be an option.

3. Review annual objectives

The back-to-school period is the perfect time to take stock of the first eight months of the year and adjust your strategies. Magali insists on the importance of precise management: "We help our customers to draw up forecasts and identify the growth levers they need to achieve their objectives by December.

4. Adapting to regulatory changes

New tax and social regulations can have an impact on businesses. Magali stresses, "The instability of the rules complicates planning, but it's crucial to stay informed to anticipate changes and advise our customers as best we can."

5. People at the heart of our business

Beyond the numbers, Magali emphasizes the richness of the exchanges with her customers: "What I love about my job is the diversity of the activities and people I meet. Every customer has a unique story, and that's what makes this job so exciting."

📋 Magali's most... creative bills!

"In 15 years in the business, I've seen a lot!" says Magali with a smile. Among her favorite "pearls":

- An annual season ticket for a box at PSG... " For sales meetings, of course!"

- Madame's hairdressing bills, discreetly slipped into overheads

- And the famous Lacoste polo shirt bought for... the gardener!

"Well, the polo shirt didn't go through with the taxman," Magali admits with a laugh. "My role is also to explain what is deductible and what is not. Sometimes diplomatically, sometimes firmly!
